Utah Event Planner: SLC Kids Explore
SLC Kids Explore Initiative with Utah’s Mayor’s Office
Utah Event with Mayor’s Office
We believe in enjoying the outdoors. Do you? Over the last few years I’ve gotten to see first hand the impact of the outdoors on children. My site, Go Adventure Mom, helps to get families outdoors. More and more we are seeing fewer and fewer green spaces. That means fewer parks for children to enjoy. Play and the outdoors are such an important part of play.
We believe the outdoors has such a positive impact on youth. This is something I feel passionate about so much so that we recently took part in the SLC Kids Explore Initiative with Utah’s Mayor’s Office.
In creating the Utah event we wanted to think outside more than just a typical playgroup targeted event.
Utah Event Kick’s Off
Our family tries to get outside for an hour every day. I write about our outdoor adventures over at Go Adventure Mom. We were excited to share our love for the outdoors with the month long event with the Utah’s Mayor’s office.
SLC KIDS EXPLORE urging families to Go, Seek, Discover: 30 Minutes in Nature.
The book reading was by Mitch Stevens publisher of Dreamling Books and read my personal favorite children’s book of 2015, The Boy Who Spoke To The Earth. Mitch teaches writing workshops at elementary schools and speaks to young adults on following your passion.
After the book reading Mitch and his team had the kids go on a scavenger hunt and then gave all the children artwork from the book.
The event with the Mayor’s office was a success and we were able to bring children outdoors.
Keep us in mind for your next Utah Event.
