Does Google Page Rank Still Matter?
Does Google Page Rank Matter?
If you’ve been around the website world a while, you may be wondering if Google Page Rank even matters anymore. That’s a good question. Times have changed so much since the Internet first came about, so it only makes sense that Google has changed as well. Let’s dig into whether or not Google Rank matters anymore.
I could take you on a long rank of why Google Page Rank doesn’t matter anymore, but I won’t. While page rank has mattered in the past, Google is changing too much to make sense of Google Rank.
Good Content Matters
Perhaps why Google Page Rank doesn’t matter as much anymore is because good content has taken over the bad content. It used to be that faulty-content that made no sense ruled the Internet. However, now the pages that have good content are winning the ranking wars. If you focus on good content, you’re going to see more success than none.
It Doesn’t Always Make Sense
Anymore, the way pages rank doesn’t even make as much sense. JohnChow.com says it best when he states the following “Sure, JohnChow.com has a respectable PR5, but why is TheTechZone.com, John’s tech site that hasn’t been updated in over two years, still a PR5 too? And why would my basic HTML landing page at MichaelKwan.com have a PR3, while my nearly daily updated blog at btr.michaelkwan.com get stuck with a PR0?” I also like when he says “if you live by Google, you die by Google.”
In other words, don’t get so caught up in PageRank on your website. Get caught up on making great content that your readers will love. Besides, do you want real people to read your website or are you okay with it rotting in Google- Land.
If you’re going to be writing content, you might as well make it good content.
